About the Bealings Bagpiper

Rod Caird is the Bealings Bagpiper.

He learned the pipes at Trinity College, Glenalmond near Perth in Scotland, aged 13 - over forty years ago! He now teaches them at Orwell Park School in Suffolk.

His pipes have featured on BBC Radio Suffolk and he has played at weddings as far afield as St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. Rod regularly performs at birthdays, Burns Nights, funerals, village fetes, sporting events, balls and has even piped at Norwich airport! He will play at any event, at all times of year and in all weathers.

Rod normally wears a full kilt outfit with Prince Charlie jacket, Glengarry and feather hackle. He can do a more informal kilt outfit if required. He generally wears Black Watch tartan but can accommodate special requests.

Rod is based in Suffolk in the United Kingdom and can travel anywhere in Suffolk or the surrounding area.
